November 2024 – Tudor House Museum Southampton

The Tudor House museum is one of the oldest buildings in Southampton. Along with the adjacent walls it forms part of the old quarter of the city. The museum gives a view of life in Southampton over hundreds of years. Details of the museum can be found here on the Tudor House website. Make sure to check their calendar as the museum is not open every day.

As well as the museum, the surrounding area in the old quarter maintains its historic significance with the old walls and St. Michael’s church nearby.

There are direct trains from Sway to Southampton which run every hour. Train times can be found here.

Reaching the museum is straightforward. Leave Southampton station by the exit on platform 4 and walk along the path shown on the map below. It’s about a 15 minute walk.

The museum has a cafe and there are other possibilities in the city for eating and drinking.

After visiting the Tudor House if you walk down by the side of the museum then you are straight onto the old medieval Southampton walls.
