It’s the usual festive fun in Bournemouth again this year. There are the Christmas market stalls and attractions including the ice skating rink and the Alpine bar. I went down in the evening on the opening night to take these photos and it was very lively. The lights are at their best at night. Details of the market and attractions can be found here.
The attractions and Christmas market stalls are also open during the day for Christmas shopping.
There are direct trains from Sway to Bournemouth which run every hour. Train times can be found here.
If you’re making it a night out then the last train from Bournemouth back to Sway leaves just after 11 pm. Please check train times on the day though for the up to date train information.
It’s a half hour walk into town or if you prefer, take the bus. Just exit the station by the gate on platform 3 and the bus station is right in front of you. Buses to the town centre are every few minutes and there is a fare cap on buses of £2 until the end of the 2024. The frequent bus service operates from Stand 5 (turn immediately right as you leave the station to get to stand 5).
There are lots of possibilities for eating and drinking with street food sellers in the market as well as the usual places in Bournemouth town centre.
